Welded vertices of arch

Further welded the vertices of the arch from the previous model I created to cut down the number of vertices.

Also experimented with creating the arch from a cylinder from Robins feedback which was more efficient.

Arch Reference pic

My attempt below modelled using boolean. Firstly created the arc using the 2D arc tool then extruded it into a 3D object. I then cut it into the wall using boolean.

It left many edges and vertices on the model with messed up topology.
So I then used the cut tool to make sure there were all 4 sided polygons.

Robin and Steve, please could you let me know the correct and efficient approach to model this. Thanks

Sections to model

The image below shows the sections left to model.

Robin and Steve can you please let me the best way to model the bay window and the roof. Is it best to extrude or create as separate objects and attach together.

Thanks

Edge flow and topology

Quick sketch of how the edges would look like.

messed up topology on the model

All the polygons should be four sided, I have deleted too many edges on the model i.e. The windows (holes)

Next time to improve I should first carefully plan the edges on paper before modelling. (could of used the inset tool on the holes in the walls for the windows)

The house model will be remodelled ensuring that edges are looped around the model to prevent further mistakes. Will be looking at further tutorials to help me to create a neater low poly model with correct edge flow.To get a better understanding of this.

collison Test in UDK

Create a box in 3ds Max name it UCX_ECHO make however big you want the collison.
Name the collison object the same name UCX_blah blah

Group the box and the wall together

Import into UDK
Combine meshes

Double click on click on collison tab the first one.
click on collision button

Save it and press play and the collison should work.

Test of working collision
